Making Software More Human

Team Aampe

At a recent AI x Marketing event in San Francisco, Aampe Co-Founder and CEO Paul Meinshausen sat down to talk about the fundamental challenge every consumer business faces today: getting — and keeping — customer attention in an overwhelming world.

“Every consumer company today is solving the same problem,” Paul said. “How do you get someone’s attention in an economy where everyone is offering everything?”

The answer, he explained, isn’t more content or louder marketing. It’s relevance — and relevance comes from learning.

From Static Journeys to Living Systems

Aampe’s agentic AI infrastructure gives every user their own adaptive agent — one that learns from interaction, adjusts communication in real time, and evolves with each person’s preferences and context.

“We want software to act more like a good human service provider — to communicate, learn from the interaction, and get better because of it,” Paul explained.

Instead of users bending to static rules written months ago, agentic systems adjust continuously. They learn from how people actually engage — across in-app surfaces, push notifications, or email — and respond in kind.

The Science Behind the System

Behind that adaptivity lies deep research in cognitive science, neuroscience, and machine learning.
Paul and Aampe’s founding team built the company on the same scientific principles that explain how humans perceive, reason, and learn from experience.

“It’s not just an algorithmic challenge,” he said. “It’s a perception problem. Just like autonomous driving needed new sensors and infrastructure, personalization needs the same leap in how software perceives and adapts.”

Optimism in an Attention Economy

Despite the complexity of today’s digital landscape, Paul remains optimistic:

“We live in an age of abundance and diversity. There will always be challenges, but humans find ways to solve them. Adaptive technology is part of that solution.”

Aampe’s mission reflects that optimism — building software that learns continuously, so every customer interaction can become more meaningful, not more mechanical.

Do I need "the basics" set up before I use Aampe?

No. Aampe *is* the basics (plus a whole lot more)! For example, you don't need to have user journeys set up before we can optimize. In fact, our customers don't set up user journeys at all! We achieve individualized personalization through the actual messages you send, so you don't need any formal messaging structure to get started. You only need a CPaaS connection so we can send message and a CDP connection so we can track impact.

How hard is it to get started?

Set up is a snap: Add your CDP and CPaaS API keys, set your goals, and you're ready to start writing!
